Pett Level Independent Rescue Boat Saving Lives at Sea and Community Assistance

Thankfully, we spend more time training for saving lives at sea and preparing for potential rescues than we do actually being called out for emergencies. But of course, they do happen – and that’s when our investment in training, equipment, team-work and interactions with other services really pays off.

We also help within the community, as well as provide support in incidents which aren’t ‘shouts’ in the emergency sense of the word, but are incidents where help is requested from our charity volunteers, such as First Aid support, water safety support, education and beach-awareness talks or checking on others’ safety (sometimes birds, wildlife and dogs, as well as people).

This page aims to be a bit of an overview of some of our activities in saving lives at sea, but also in helping out across a range of incidents and emergencies in recent years.

Our charity has been around as an organisation for over 50 years, so historic details will be added to our HSITORY page (coming soon).

High tide beach launch in 2021 for a SHOUT!

Please note that this is an archive, not a gallery. Where we may have a photo of the boat being launched, or of our volunteers or vehicles in action in relation to an incident, then we will include it. For the most part though, it’s not appropriate to have an image of a shout or incident. In these cases we will just show a photo of our flag, our First Aid sign or a general interest image of our boat being launched.
